Selene Reinsurance Company Limited was set up as a niche reinsurance company to offer insurance companies, reinsurance brokers and the buying public access to international reinsurance capacity and in depth Reinsurance Expertise.

Selene Re is uniquely positioned in that it is able to offer non-traditional and obscure risk transfer as the management and directors have the experience and risk understanding to structure insurance arrangements to cater for this area of the insurance market.

In the hard insurance market cycle that is currently being experienced, the demand for non traditional insurance and alternative risk transfer mechanisms has increased dramatically. Selene Re is perfectly positioned to cater for the increased demand.

Selene Reinsurance Company Limited was formed on 1^st October 2002 to provide Niche Reinsurance for non traditional insurance requirements and alternative risk transfer mechanisms

Selene Reinsurance Company Limited has been granted an insurance licence in accordance with the provisions of section 17(1) of the Act by the Financial Services Commission.

The licence allows the company to carry on general insurance in the classes of personal accident / trauma reinsurance and professional indemnity insurance
